B-B-But Black people, especially Black women, don’t “look right” in period clothing because all they ALL wore was slave rags till the 1920s.

I love that she’s got kinky hair too, and it may be in a TWA (or not, can’t really see due to the angle and the hat), so there goes the “BW can wear non-slave/upper class period clothing but only with straightened hair” ish I’ve heard too much of.

Around the mouth/the shape of her jaw she looks like one of my cousins. Give her my nose and wider cheekbones and bam she could walk into my family reunions and eat without anyone asking a thing.
